What Dress Did Kate Middleton Wear to the Reception
KATE MIDDLETON married Prince William a decade ago, and she wore one of the most iconic royal wedding dresses of all time. Here are five surprising details about the Duchess' iconic wedding outfit.
Kate's dress featured an impressively long train
When Kate Middleton arrived at Westminster Abbey for her wedding ceremony, her sister Pippa Middleton was on hand to assist her with her dress.
Kate's dress featured a nearly nine-foot-long train covered in floral motifs, and it was carried by Pippa as the bride made her way into the Abbey.
Kate's dress had a much shorter train than the dress worn by Lady Diana Spencer in 1981, however, which measured a staggering 25 feet.

Kate's 'something blue' was concealed in the gown's structure
Traditionally, brides will wear 'something blue' on their wedding days, and Kate followed this tradition in an interesting way.
A blue ribbon was thought to have been sewn into the interior of Kate's dress, echoing the 'something blue' choice of another royal bride.
Princess Diana's famous dress by the Emanuel's featured a blue bow sewn into the waistband.

Workers washed their hands every 30 minutes when handling lace
The Royal School of Needlework assisted the Alexander McQueen team when it came to cutting out the motifs for the dress from lace fabrics, and the workers were meticulous in making sure the dress remained pristine for the big day.
The Royal Family website explains: "The Royal School of Needlework (RSN), based at Hampton Court Palace, assisted the Alexander McQueen team in accurately cutting out the delicate motifs from the lace fabrics and positioning the lace motifs with precision into the new design.
"The lace motifs were pinned, 'framed up' and applied with stab stitching every two to three millimetres around each lace motif.
"The workers washed their hands every thirty minutes to keep the lace and threads pristine, and the needles were renewed every three hours, to keep them sharp and clean."

Kate's wedding tiara belongs to the Queen
As is traditional, the Queen lent Kate a tiara from her personal jewellery collection for her 2011 wedding.
Kate wore the Cartier Halo Tiara, which was purchased by the future King George VI for his wife, the future Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother.
Then-Princess Elizabeth was gifted the tiara on her 18th birthday, although since succeeding the throne the Queen does not wear the tiara publicly.
Kate's bridal bouquet included lily-of-the-valley, hyacinth, ivy and myrtle – with the latter gathered from Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.
Kate's bouquet featured sprigs from a myrtle planted by Queen Victoria in 1845, in addition to sprigs from a plant grown from myrtle used in the Queen's wedding bouquet from 1947.
Within the bouquet, Kate also chose to feature 'Sweet William' in tribute to her new husband, with the flower symbolising gallantry.
